After an incredible year of launching the 147-mile run fundraiser, we are building the foundation for something EPIC for the future of 4those! We are creating a “fund-racing” suite of athletic events to offer to the public in an effort to bring awareness to and raise money for 4those! This means that there will be a variety of events—all focused around the number 147, of course—that we will be beta testing this year and bringing to all of YOU in the future!

Here’s what we’re strategizing and locking down next year:

-14.7M run

-147M run relays (and maybe a full 147M ultramarathon someday!)

-147M bike

We are working on in-person and virtual options and strategizing how to potentially expand to other sports down the line as we grow to even include our micropreemie families! All future entry fees for these events will essentially be in the form of donations to 4those (we’re still working out the details of this, stay tuned) and participants will be able to independently fundraise as well! 

We’ll be bringing you along on the journey of building the community movement around our mission of bringing hope, healing and possibility to our micropreemie families through our fund-racing opportunities!

How YOU Can Participate in 2024!

THE #RUN4THOSE CHALLENGE BEGAN JANUARY 15!

Steph’s new 2024 running challenge is set and underway! She is attempting to run 14.7 miles every single day for the 147 days Zev was in the NICU. No breaks, no days off, January 15-June 11. All to continue to build awareness and community around our mission here at 4those! And, yes, in some ways she is more scared of trying to do this than she was trying to run 147 miles in a row!

The best part? YOU are invited to participate! It doesn’t have to be running. It can be anything you want to try to accomplish for 147 days straight! Some people are walking a mile a day, others are doing pushups every day, or writing every day! It can even be iterations of 1-4-7, but it doesn’t have to be. It just has to be you, me, and the whole community that is gathering momentum around our 4those mission to bring hope, healing and possibility to families facing the journey around extreme prematurity. They’ll be new ways to donate and support as we all embark on this path together, so tell anyone and everyone!

Steph will have other opportunities for you to join in person as well (maybe you can train to run 14.7 miles and come join her out there!). She even connected with a lot of amazing people while running the Austin Marathon in February!
